NDIS and Enhanced Lifestyles
What is the NDIS?
The NDIS is a new way of providing disability support: taking a lifetime approach to investing in people with disability. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will provide all Australians under the age of 65 living with a permanent and significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to enjoy an ordinary life. This completely new system of disability support includes an early intervention strategy targeting both children and adults, aiming to benefit the NDIS participant by reducing their future need for disability support; slow the deterioration of their medical condition; or give the increased functionality. The NDIS helps you to:
- Access mainstream services and supports
- Access community services and supports
- Maintain your informal support arrangements
- Receive reasonable and necessary funded supports
Eligibility criteria To be eligible, people with disability must meet the following requirements:
- Have a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to take part in everyday activities
- Be aged less than 65 years when first accessing the scheme
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen who holds a Protected Special Category Visa
All people who are currently accessing disability services through state funding will automatically be eligible to receive an NDIS plan. Those people will rollover according to the rollout dates below and will be required to go through the First Plan process.

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) who are in charge of the schemes implementation have set benchmark pricing for all registered service providers of the NDIS. This means that registered service providers, like Enhanced Lifestyles, cannot charge more than the NDIA set amount for any services provided. However, service providers can choose to charge under the set pricing.
Enhanced Lifestyles, one of the most cost effective service providers before the NDIS rollout, is committed to charging less than the NDIA benchmark prices. Essentially, this means you will get more services than outlined in your plan if you choose Enhanced Lifestyles. We can continue to provide our services at a lower cost as we have invested heavily in information technology systems which cut down the administration time needed to deliver your services. Please contact us on (08) 8340 2000 for a full list of rates for Assistance with Daily Living and Assistance with Social and Community Participation with personalised quotes provided for all other services.
