About Us

Enhanced Lifestyles is a not-for-profit organisation which provides in-home and community support services to children and adults living with disabilities.

We provide services across South Australia including metropolitan Adelaide, Barossa, Yorke Peninsula, Riverland, Limestone Coast, Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island.

Member driven organisation created by people with disability for people with disability

Enhanced Lifestyles is a disability support service which was formed by and is governed by people with a disability. Our services are provided in home and are designed to assist people to remain independent within their homes and the community.

Enhanced Lifestyles has been operating since 1990, when a group of people living with physical disabilities lobbied for and obtained funding to form the association known as Disabled Independent Persons of South Australia (DIPSA). The organisation was specially formed to offer people choice and control over their services, a revolutionary concept at the time. The organisation was run by one of the lobbyists out of a bedroom in their house for the first 2 years. Six months into this, a second organisation South Australian Independent Lifestyles was formed which although was independent from DIPSA, was administrated by the same operations manager.

Over the years, the organisation has evolved and grown significantly, including a re-branding and name change, but what has not altered is Enhanced Lifestyles commitment to offering its customers maximum choice and control over their services.

Our Board of Management is comprised of individuals living with disabilities who use our services, giving the organisation a true understanding of the needs of its customers.

Our services are tailored to each customer’s needs through their selection of services, how and when they are delivered as well as the selection of their team of Lifestyle Attendants (Personal Care Workers). Customers can create, organise and manage their own rosters or have our Service Delivery Team do it for them. The level of involvement our customers have is completely up to them, truly making Enhanced Lifestyles a unique organisation which strives to assist customers to retain maximum independence within their homes and the community.
